I ran across this little YouTube
essay on Edward Ardizzone almost by accident and realized I had at least four
books that had been illustrated by him. I have to say he’s kind of moved into a
pantheon of illustrators whose work will always commend the book they decorate
at least a preliminary glance. He has become filed into the same category of
Ernest H. Shepard and Pauline Baynes for me. Maybe not as highly ranked there,
but rather like though better than Nora S. Unwin.
