Revelation

I probably shouldn't say anything, but I'm feeling a strange combination of elation and exhaustion. I've had a couple of hard days dealing with the 'real world' (so-called), but early this morning I finished with the first pass on a new creative project.

It was John's original concept, proposed on the 8th of August. I stewed over it for a couple of days, then on the 11th, the ball seemed to be rolling with its own momentum, and I started writing, usually only a page or two at a time, as the spirit moved me. There were also notes and ideas and new suggestions by John which I recorded in their own document.

The concept was an episodic show, using some of the characters from our Goldfire efforts and some of the next generation. We had a specific template in mind for the adventures that would ensue and an overall story arc, but the main drivers of the tales would be the characters themselves, and their development.

Well, as I say, early this morning, September 17th, say 5 AM or so, I finished the first draft of a pilot episode, an establishing episode, the 'set-up', which I think is dramatic and interesting enough in itself. What I have to decide now is whether it is sufficient, or if I should continue on a part two that will be an adventure episode, to put everyone through their paces, as it were.

Anyway, I think I will still need to do some fiddling and adjusting before it is fit to be shown to anyone else but John and myself. But ... there is a first pass. Done. As Miss Price might say, "You must, if you understand, have something to turn into something, and something to turn it with." And now I have something to work on. I felt I had to chortle about it a bit, to keep my spirits up.
