I was pondering, wondering
what I should post today, and my mind wandered to a type of post I have
sometimes made lately. What I’ve done, now that I have five year’s worth
of content here on the Niche, is choose a person, or a subject, and
gather what I have said about it or them. Then I’ll make a post of those bits
pasted together, like a collage. I’ve already done it for Mike, and Beowulf,
and Don Quixote. I kind of did one for Katharine Briggs when I got The
Anatomy of Puck. Several subjects are almost too tremendous to contemplate,
like Mom or J. R. R. Tolkien or God; other ‘collages’ might be giving too much
oxygen to unpleasant subjects, like Nanny or the Jehovah’s Witnesses.
Unpleasant, but not unimportant.
Anyway, I shall (probably) not do any such posting today. Today I need to relax a bit, not vex my mind, and catch up on my reading; ‘to possess my soul in a passion of patience.’ I’ve got quite a backlog of books. This? This hardly counts as a post, more like a placeholder. Just thought I’d tell you.
