At the moment, my daily
viewing on YouTube includes at least four ‘programs’ that I follow; my day does
not feel quite complete until I’ve watched them.
One
of them is First Time Watching Dragon Ball by Suzy Lu, a commenter based in the
United Kingdom. She has first reactions to an episode a day, and her lively,
somewhat naïve enthusiasm is a great way to relive watching the show. It
doesn’t hurt that she’s kind of cute. I suppose I really stick with the show
because I started it as it was first beginning, and it’s a good way to eke out
a rewatch of Dragon Ball in nice, bite-size chunks. The one jarring aspect (for
me) is that she sometimes pronounces ‘s’ as ‘sh’, so words like ‘assume’ are
pronounced ‘ashume’. But since she seems to be Scottish this is just a mild
distraction. Here is the first episode:

Another is Anthony’s Animation Talk, a channel dedicated to
review of all one thousand Warner Brothers’ cartoon shorts. Each show lasts
from twenty to thirty minutes long, so each cartoon is fairly thoroughly
covered. He usually has one or two expert guests, and they cover studio
history, the animators, the background artists, the voice actors, the release
date, their place in history, and my favorite aspect (which led me to the site
in the first place), what music was used. And since he is Australian, his
jarring trait is to pronounce ‘H’ as ‘Haitch’, instead of ‘Aitch’. Thus, HD is
always Haitch-Dee. Again, no biggie compared to the stellar content, but it
still tends to scrimple. Here is his Introductory video:

And here is a sample about
Duck Amok, a cartoon so significant that they talk about it for about an hour:

Another
amusing watch is The DEEV Channel, by @DEEVreal, who also does Zeducation. It tends to be a daily
brokering of interesting memes and short funny films, hosted by a regular kind
of guy who pretends to be a neutral observer, but who has an obvious point of
view. His sense of humor seems to jibe well enough with mine. Here is
yesterday’s show:

On a more serious note (but heavily spiced with humor) I
like to watch The Michael Knowles Show. He is a conservative Catholic
(or is it a Catholic conservative?) who points out ‘the abundant hypocrisy of
the left’, their lapses of logic and failures of fact. He is also a nimble
debater on his feet. His enemies are constantly trying to paint him as some
kind of bigot and failing abysmally. In what is a seasonal sample, here is his
recounting of the historical Pilgrims, their Native American allies, and Thanksgiving:
