Tolkien's Faith: A Spiritual Biography, by Holly Ordway (Coming August 28)
Given what I know about Holly Ordway, her personal and professional background (see Not God's Type and Tolkien's Modern Reading, elsewhere in this blog), this looks to be a solid, scholarly look at the history of his religious life, and not merely another evangelical 'search for spiritual meaning' in his published works. Biography, not literary analysis, except insofar as it touches his faith. For more about it, see its review on Amazon. I'm looking forward to it.
