Mickey and Goofy follow a
parrot to a treasure while being shadowed by two crooks. Jiminy Cricket gives a
lesson on Elephant Evolution. Donald has a very unlucky run-in with a
horseshoe. And “Elephant Man” meant something very different at the time! Did
not have it as a kid but do now.

The Aristocats
movie had come out the year before and we saw it in the theater; here it is
offered in story form with some illustrations. The nephews make a monkey out of
Donald when he tries to take a funny film of them to send into TV. Big Bad Wolf
fakes a gingerbread house to lure the Pigs. Brer Bear hunts Thumper for his
stewpot and the Seven Dwarfs help him escape. We had this one, I’m pretty sure.
I remember seeing a girl on the bus with a copy and wanting it, so it must have
been gone by then. Anyway, I have it now.

Special Frontier Issue. All
stories themed about the early West. Mickey leads a wagon train! “Only fence-lizards
and loco-heads go out inna midday sun!” Davy Crockett. Uncle Scrooge captains a
riverboat race against the Beagle Boys with Gyro’s grandfather as engineer. “Paddle
wheel, paddle wheel, on a blue hill! When the wind blows, the crows stand
still!” Had it and have it.

The Sorcerer’s Apprentice
(almost sure it’s a Paul Murry)! Donald tells the Nephews to learn from the
ants … and they do! Goofy accidentally buys the picture of a fish at an auction
and tries to make his money back. “Feet-smeet! Let’s eat!” Scrooge returns to
an old mining town that mysteriously comes and goes. And Gyro Gearloose invents
an unhittable ball and an unmissable bat that cause chaos at the local game.
Had and have.

#30 (August 1971)
Donald and Pinocchio get
their jollies with a mood-altering fruit, Gus and Jaq eat a delicious-looking
meal at Daisy’s diner, Mickey loses a circus bear that steals a
delicious-looking piece of cake from the Seven Dwarfs, Scrooge becomes a
partner at the Nephews’ lemonade stand and overindulges while trying to test
their business-savvy, and after all this food Daisy tries to lose weight when a
faulty scale gives her some misleading information. Gyro does some genetic
engineering on the local trees, but as usual can’t please everybody. Had and
have.
