Strange to think that all these months in 1969 Mike was going through First Grade. I remember what a mystery it was to me. While we missed all those adaptations of Dumbo, Savage Sam, The Little Gauchito, Cinderella, and Johnny Appleseed, what we could never have imagined were those strange crossover adventures of different characters from every possible Disney product. Jiminy Cricket meets Captain Hook? Why not! Minnie Mouse tangles with the Wicked Queen from Snow White? A delightful concept! Thumper meets the Reluctant Dragon? It could happen, and did! It's hard to imagine what peculiar influences might have taken root in our heads if we had gotten these digests at that time.
