Polearms

“A polearm or pole weapon is a close combat weapon in which the main fighting part of the weapon is fitted to the end of a long shaft, typically of wood, extending the user's effective range and striking power. Polearms are predominantly melee weapons, with a subclass of spear-like designs fit for thrusting and/or throwing. Because many polearms were adapted from agricultural implements or other fairly abundant tools, and contained relatively little metal, they were cheap to make and readily available. When belligerents in warfare had a poorer class who could not pay for dedicated military weapons, they would often appropriate tools as cheap weapons. The cost of training was comparatively low, since these conscripted farmers had spent most of their lives using these "weapons" in the fields. Spears of Destiny

 

Most of these are spears, but there are several which might be better classified as a pole-arm (a kind of weapon we'll come to later). There is a harpoon, as well as a type of Japanese shovel that looks like a large bronze spear, which are included here, because why not?

Or, to put it another way, Join the Club. These weapons share the drawer with the axes. I have at least four 'Mjolnirs', that is, Thor's Hammer. Just as a reminder, this does not include any LOTR weapons.

Swords Drawer (and Knives and Scabbards)

 

Not exactly sure what prompted me to do this. Boredom? Not sure I'll go on with the other drawers. There are a few Lord of the Rings swords here, but plenty more elsewhere. Was able to clear out a few items that belonged elsewhere (arrows, etc.). I used to know where each sword was from (at least from which franchise), but I'm not so sure now.
