Like I mentioned the other day, my sister Susan is going through a bunch of bins full of stuff she was storing from her kids. Well, today she brought over a couple of squeaky toys from our childhood that the kids played with that had been stored in their hoard. I mentioned them a while ago here on the Niche, the dinosaur in a post about toy 'dragons', the elephant in one about squeaky toys. I wondered where they were; now I know. We never came up with a name for the dinosaur; we did call the elephant 'Ellie'. Man, we were poets in those days, mythopoets. Ellie of course had more character, probably because she had props. Her backpack and book made me think she was some kind of naturalist, maybe a hiker or a bird watcher. One of the kids seems to have outlined some details on the dinosaur with black marker. Their original paint has faded; these images from the interwebs show their original color scheme. They were both made by Ashland.
