The year 1987 brought us The Super Naturals by Tonka. I can still hear the sonorous tones of the TV commercial (‘Soo-oo-per Naturals!’). The action figures featured the gimmicks of holograms (embedded in the torsos and the shields) and glow-in-the-dark weapons to evoke a ghostly feel. We had the six main characters and one shorter ‘Ghostling’; our Ghostling and the playset ‘The Tomb of Doom’ reside in the Big Toybox, along with the steeds Liongwings and Dark Dragon. We got the dragon much later at a garage sale; it did not have its wings. We still have the lion's (mechanical) wings. This is one of those series that I think in retrospect I should have restricted myself to one or two of the figures; probably just the Viking, Thunderbolt.
