Diane Duane began writing about Young Wizards being recruited and learning magic in 1983. There are seven other novels in the series, and at least five other books related to the series. She is also known for her work on Star Trek novels. While I enjoyed the Young Wizard books that I read for their themes, I was not fully engaged and found it hard finding the rest of the series. At a certain point I dropped the whole thing. Perhaps I was not at the right time of life or lacked the patience.
