A
couple of weeks ago I talked about Hanna/Barbera movies we watched as kids; I
particularly covered The Man Called Flintstone. What I didn’t talk about
was the fact that the TV show The Flintstones already had a spy movie
parody episode that was better than the movie, and only lasted for a half hour,
less commercials. That was in the Fifth Season, one year before the movie came
out. Of course, we cannot have the complete episode.
The Flintstones was
already producing various parodies on pop cultural subjects, and quite a few
were rather hilariously macabre. The ‘boom-a-crackers’ (as our uncle called them) of the
Dr. Frankenstone episode was something that entered our childhood vocabulary
and were used in several 'playings'.
